For the Intention of Peace

Watch the trailer of our film

We are witnesses to constant conflicts in the world. Fighting for freedom, death, pain, suffering. But is here anyone who has made people stand up for one of the most important values - peace? How is it that by putting their own lives and suffering on the line, people have the courage and hope to prevail and attain peace? This is what this film will be about. About faith, suffering, hope and love, but also about the act of grace.

What will For the Intention of Peace be about?

The film is set in South Korea, Poland's Mazovia region, and Medjugorie in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Despite their differences, the cultures of Poles and Koreans share many similarities. The film explores universal values, with peace being one of its most important messages. This message is addressed to people of all skin colors and religions around the world. Ethical principles like justice, loyalty, honesty, mercy, and respect are universal values. The message of the story is that peace between man and God must come before peace between people. This applies to all of us, regardless of our faith and worldview. The film will serve a social and educational purpose and will encourage viewers to reflect.

The Korean War, August 1980, and the war in Ukraine share a common denominator: the struggle for freedom, which often results in death, pain, and suffering. While each of these events has its heroes and victims, it is important to consider the individuals who fought for the most important human values. How did they find the courage, faith, and hope to put their own lives on the line and prevail? How often do we witness a miracle? Our film explores the experience of an unquestionable, tangible miracle of love, freedom, healing, or conversion and the impact it has on a person. We aim to portray how someone who has been bestowed with love by God or saved from death, illness, or damnation can show their gratitude and devotion to Him. The film is about faith, hope, love, and an act of grace. We want to tell this story to the best of our ability and be present with the camera at all events and locations relevant to the documentary narrative.

The film tells the stories of seemingly unrelated people. However, as the film progresses, we discover that they have a lot in common. Despite being born and living thousands of kilometers apart and having cultural differences, their paths intertwined. The individuals include Korean Priest Lee, a shepherd from Namyang, a disabled couple from Radom, and a happy Polish-Korean family - he from Mazovia, she from Seoul. The film presents testimonies of miraculous events experienced by individuals. It seems that miracles and extraordinary events are only the stuff of hagiography, but the film is a testimony to the fact that they really do take place! The logical chain of events that brings the characters together culminates in a shared sense of mission.

Films with similar themes and sensitivities are becoming increasingly popular, not only among believers. In a world where everyone is affected by a crisis of values, faith often emerges as the supreme and ultimate value. This is especially true when, as in the best art of filmmaking, the protagonist undergoes a transformation throughout the story, encountering others who wish to join in their work and overcoming adversity with impressive strength and faith. This is a guide for creating good cinema. The strength of this story lies in its truth. It is not a fictionalized account of paper characters, but rather a story about real people who live both far away and beside us. They are people who are familiar with our road to independence and aspire to follow in our footsteps. It is impossible to remain indifferent to this compelling story. While watching the film, skeptical viewers may reflect on their belief in the chosen path of our protagonists. In contemporary documentaries, it is important to pose difficult questions rather than provide easy answers, and to avoid the use of subjective judgments.

The film premiere

The film premiere will showcase high technical, artistic, and substantive levels. After preliminary discussions with the individuals involved, it was determined that our experience gained over the years was appropriate for creating such a documentary. Additionally, the 12 Stars Foundation is conducting complementary organizational activities for the premiere of the film in South Korea and Poland. To achieve this goal, we have already chosen the venue for the film premiere in South Korea. The premiere will take place on April 28, 2024, at the Seoul Museum of History, located at 55 Saemunan-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, in a 380-seat auditorium. We expect media representatives to attend, and we will hold a press conference and provide press materials. We also anticipate successful cooperation with our diplomatic mission in Seoul. The venue for the film's premiere in Warsaw will be selected soon. The film will then premiere in 15 major cities, with local media representatives invited to attend. The film's screening events in Poland are scheduled for March 2024.
