For over a thousand years, Poland's history has been inseparably intertwined with Christianity. In 966, Duke Mieszko I converted to Christianity, bringing our lands into the circle of Latin civilization. It was then that the Polish State was born.
Over the centuries, our nation has raised countless heroes—saints, martyrs, leaders, scholars, and artists - men of faith and action, willing to sacrifice everything for God and their fatherland. Bolesław Chrobry, Władysław Jagiełło, Jan III Sobieski, Stanisław Żółkiewski - great commanders of Polish glory. Saints who kept alive the nation's spirit: St. John Paul II, St. Kinga, St. Stanisław Kostka, St. Andrzej Bobola, St. Faustyna Kowalska, Blessed Jerzy Popiełuszko, St. Maksymilian Kolbe. It impossible to count them all. Let us also remember those whose names are known only to God - exiles, insurgents, martyrs who fought for freedom and faith as well as forgotten heroes like Benedykt Polak. Their testimony is a treasure we must preserve and pass on to future generations.
